In 2018, Bryan Maddock joined The Design School at Arizona State University as an Adjunct Instructor, bringing his expertise in speculative architecture and urban design to the program. He was appointed to teach a fourth-year advanced studio, a second-year studio, and graduate-level theory courses.
Maddock’s approach emphasized research-driven design, challenging students to explore architecture’s role in shaping future cities. His integration of Fantastic Offense’s methodologies into academia fostered critical thinking and innovation. Through his teaching, Maddock encouraged students to push beyond conventional design frameworks, preparing them to engage with the evolving challenges of architectural practice and urbanism.
